Some examples of literacy activities in Saskatchewan:
- Adult Basic Education – Essential Skills for the Workplace (ABE-ESWP) This initiative helps unemployed First Nation and Métis learners acquire basic literacy skills, transferable skills for employment, and significant work experience. ABE-ESWP focuses specifically on Literacy Levels 1 and 2, and helps First Nations/Métis and the unemployed gain workplace skills that allow them to enter the workforce.
- Literacy and Early Childhood Education Initiative The main goal of this initiative is to build capacity within Saskatchewan's public library system to support literacy initiatives that contribute to early-childhood literacy and language development.
