Assessment Date

The PCAP assessment administration will take place between April 17 and May 26, 2023.

  • Select and enter the first date on which the assessment will be administered at the school.
  • Enter a second assessment date, to be used in the event that a makeup session is necessary or multiple assessment sessions are required.
Note: If more than two sessions are required at the school, CMEC does not need to be informed of further assessment session dates.
  • Indicate every date for which no staff will be present at the school, to ensure that materials are not sent when the school is closed. NB: Do not include normally unstaffed days, such as weekends, holidays, professional activity days, school breaks, or religious holidays.

The PCAP assessment takes approximately three hours to administer.

When selecting the assessment date, please note the following:

  • Both parts of the test and the Student Questionnaire must be administered to students on the same day, with a short break in between, as indicated in the timetable above. If required, the Student Questionnaire may be administered in the afternoon after lunch.
  • If more than one class is selected to participate in the assessment in your school, or if you do not have enough devices to test all the students in one session, the school will have to schedule multiple assessment sessions (preferably on consecutive school days).
  • If the student participation rate is below 90 percent, a makeup session will be necessary. Please aim to schedule the makeup for the day following the last planned assessment session (see Complete the Student Participation Rates Form).
