Secondary Education in Canada: A Student Transfer Guide, 2008-09

Each year, thousands of Canadian secondary-school students transfer from one province or territory to another. One of the major concerns associated with such transfers is the continuity of students' education. This document was prepared to assist receiving schools in placing secondary students so that their education would be as continuous as possible. Information for each jurisdiction is divided into two parts: part I provides information on secondary education in each of the ten provinces and three territories, and part II contains course descriptions to facilitate the placement of students.

Pan-Canadian Systems-Level Framework on Global Competencies

In 2016, the ministers of Education articulated six broad global competencies. This reference framework, which is nonprescriptive, maps out broad directions for the integration of these global competencies in education and helps policy-makers, school leaders, educators, and communities in provinces and territories to include global competencies in education.

Pan-Canadian Systems-Level Framework on Global Competencies: Literature Review

This literature review informed the development of the Pan-Canadian Systems-Level Framework on Global Competencies and included an in-depth international and pan-Canadian review that focused on trends in competencies and competency-based education, and examined the system transformation undertaken in several education systems, including those of Canadian provinces and territories.

Pan-Canadian Report on Official Languages in Education, 2005–06 to 2008–09

This is the second of two reports called for under the Protocol for Agreements for Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction, 2005-2006 to 2008-2009. It provides a summative description of the achievement of outcomes supported by protocol funding — the projects, initiatives, and ongoing efforts in minority-language education and second-language instruction carried out by the provinces and territories.
